These are original M1873 steel scabbards with swiveling leather froggs and a brass NGP (National Guard Pennsylvania) rosette for the socket bayonet of the .45-70 trapdoor breech loading Springfield Rifle. They are in overall poor to fair condition with pitting and rust spots to the formerly blued steel scabbard. The leather frog portion is present but somewhat weak with cracks and crazing yet most (if not all) stitching is present. The swivels themselves are stiff but do function and the brass N.G.P. rosette is present. Price is for one scabbard only.
