Original era manufacture and recovered from Funkstown, Maryland. The leather of this percussion cap box is in good condition overall. The outer flap shows significant crazing but maintains approximately 70% of surface finish. The leather underneath has a smooth surface. The latch tab is completely torn off. The inner flap is complete with both ears. Stitching is tight. The original fleece lining has been removed from the interior of the box. The pick is not present. The body of the box is strong and the brass finial is present at bottom. The reverse is also good with two complete belt loops, one of which is torn but all pieces are present.
